The World Bank's Trust Fund for Environmentally and Socially Sustainable Development (TFESSD) home page is here.

The TFESSD is a multi-donor trust fund providing grant resources for World Bank activities which mainstream environmental, social and poverty reducing dimensions of sustainable development. It is intended to help develop World Bank and client country capacity, promote inclusion of these cross-cutting issues into World Bank operations, and foster cooperation between different units in the World Bank and with the United Nations and other external agencies and groups. Although the funds are untied, it is expected that the TFESSD should increase the cooperation between the Bank and donor institutions.

TFESSD currently funds more than 130 activities in 80 countries, with 50 percent of the funding going to Africa. Activities are organized into "windows" corresponding to the four World Bank sector boards involved:

The total sum awarded is USD 184,400.-.

GTZ

GTZ annually contributes USD 7,000.-. In addition, GTZ provides various services in kind, through its project activities in the TFT project area.
