Depending upon the type of work undertaken, the phase of the project and the stakeholders involved, different methodologies are utilized. The general methodological approach is en eclectic combination of qualitative and quantitative methods - regarding which methods are utilized and how this methodological mix changes as implementation proceeds. The methods utilized includes, participatory observation, participation, stakeholder analysis, social assessment and surveys.
In the early phase, specifically including data collection, the overall methodology utilized is "Participatory Research Mapping" (PRM). PRM can be understood to be a label for a broader approach that encompasses, builds upon, and applies other distinct methodologies (see above). PRM is, through involving local people, focused specifically on researching local knowledge about, views on, and relationships with, natural resources.
Information and documents relating to the methodologies utilized is available for online browsing and downloading. The data produced by means of these methodologies are available in Sections Output and Resources. The exception to this are internal project documents that are available only in the password-protected Staff work area.
