This Page contains documents prepared in connection with planning and implementing data collection, including specifically the Participatory Resource Mapping (PRM) exercise. The timetable referred to in some of the documents is no longer correct, and needs to be revised.

Background and planning

These documents contain background information on customary rights, and overview documentation on PRM as applicable to this data collection exercise, together with information on mapping methodology. The following documents are available:

1. "Customary rights and PRM." Comment: Provides an overview of the PRM exercise. Includes presentations of all the documents prepared (see below). Originally prepared May 2004. In English. [download]

3. "Methodology." Comment: Provides an overview over key aspects of the methodology. Originally prepared May 2004. In English. [download]
4. "Layers of data and knowledge." Comment: Lists chronologically and details the various layers of data and knowledge to be addressed during the project and data collection. The layers are specified for two relevant ecosystemic strata, namely the ephemeral wetlands and the catchment area they belong to. In terms of the maps to be prepared, these layers will included. Questionnaires guidance

These documents are guidance to the questionnaires. They typically cover guidance on the relationship with other questionnaires and the meaning of specific variables. The following documents are available:
