Documents

Documents – in more general terms, the output – prepared by Supras are listed here. In cases where the author is not mentioned, this is Lars T. Soeftestad (until 1999) and Supras (from 2000 onwards). The output is presented according to five of Supras’ core service areas. A clear distinction cannot be made between these areas, and there is accordingly some overlap. This applies, in particular, to the service areas of Projects, Research and Networking. Most of the output can be downloaded.

In addition to the five service areas, a sixth category is included, namely Supras Briefing Notes, which contains drafts, memos, notes and pre-publication papers (details below).

Links to many of the projects, implementing agencies and partners that are involved in these activities are available in section Links. Details about the activities mentioned are available in section Portfolio. Images from some of the activities are available in section Images.

Networking
Focus: This service is focused around CBNRM Net (the Community-Based Natural Resource Management Network) that caters to the global CBNRM community of practice. [access]
Projects
Focus: Social and cultural aspects of natural resource management and knowledge management. This comprises the regular consultancy work that Supras is doing, often in connection with preparation of development projects as well as monitoring and evaluation of development projects. [access]
Publishing
Focus: Covers blogging, a newsletter publication series, a papers publication series and a website. This is done partly in collaboration with CBNRM Networking. [access]
Research
Focus: The research addresses a number of interrelated areas of concern, including culture and natural resource management, language and communication, networking, ICTs and development, and knowledge management. The research done as a rule has a more or less clear applied orientation and rationale, in particular, it is often a spin off of applied work, or it feeds into applied work. [access]
Training and capacity-building
Focus: Comprises organization of and/or participation in specific training programs or activities. It also covers the training that CBNRM Net does as part of its day-to-day operation. Finally, in some cases the consultants in developing countries and countries in transition that are listed on the Supras site as staff / local consultants should be understood as a case of on-the-job-training. [access]
Supras Notes
Focus: Contains drafts, memos, notes and pre-publication papers. This is, as a rule, output connected with work in the above service areas, typically in the form of drafts or spin-off ideas and thoughts. [access]
