Supras provides advisory, operational and research services in several sectors and areas, centering on the integrated nature of a diverse set of elements, including: income generation, innovation, knowledge management, livelihoods, natural resource management, the private sector, social/institutional analyses and strategic communication.

Core competencies include: capacity building, community-based natural resource management, institutional analysis/reform, participatory approaches, project management, and social analysis/assessment. We work in both developing and transition economies, including in these sectors: agriculture, coastal zone management, education, fisheries and rangeland management.

UNCCD COP 11 (Windhoek, Namibia, 16-27 Sep. 2013).  Lars Soeftestad was invited to participate to enable interactions between the delegates and the private sector on issues related to land management, specifically in the Sustainable Land Management (SLM) Business Forum. He presented a Supras technical paper, and argued for inclusion of relevant social language in the Forum's Declaration. He was also interviewed for Climate Change TV. 2nd European Ecotourism Conference (Brasov, Romania, 23-25 Oct. 2013).  Lars Soeftestad gave a presentation on the use of stakeholder analysis in developing ecotourism destinations. [Presentation | more]
Soil and Land Leadership Events (Bonn, Germany, 11-13 Mar. 2014).  Lars Soeftestad was invited to participate in these events, which addressed the role of the private sector in supporting and advancing sustainable land management. The events were organized by several UN agencies and other like-minded organizations. [more]
Green Days (Sofia, Bulgaria, 9-14 May 2014).   Lars Soeftestad is giving a presentation on social issues, networking and env. protection in connection with implementing the Rio Conventions. [more]
Mission to Bulgaria and Romania, November-December 2014.   Activities: (1) Supras business meetings (Sofia), (2) Project meetings, including a project on Roma (Sofia),(3) Preparation of new projects, incl. a marine archaeology project (Nesebar, Bulgaria) and a medical anthropology project involving Roma (Plovdiv, Bulgaria), (4) Conference "The future of the lower Danube: Regional economic encouragement - intelligent cities - new infrastructure" (Svishtov, Bulgaria, 24. November). My presentation it titled "Responsible research and innovation: EU and Bulgaria". The focus is on a new EU strategy on R&I for all Danube countries [conf. website], (5) Conference "Central and Eastern Europe, Civil society Forum" (Bucharest, Romania, 27.-28. November 2014) [conf. website], (6) Meeting organized by the Norwegian Embassy in Bulgaria to launch a "Norwegian-Bulgarian Business Group" (Sofia).
